Azure MCP Integration

Connect Azure to your AI agents through Weldable.

Developer Tools

Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing platform offering services for compute, storage, networking, AI, and more. The Azure MCP integration with Weldable gives your AI agents the ability to manage Azure resources, check service health, and query operational data using natural language instead of the Azure portal or CLI.

Azure supports hundreds of services across dozens of categories. Your agent simplifies this complexity by letting you describe what you need in plain English, and Weldable handles the API routing, authentication, and response parsing.

Use cases

Monitor virtual machines and app services

Your AI agent can check the status of Azure VMs, App Services, and container instances. Ask for a list of running resources, their health status, or recent performance metrics, and the agent delivers a summary without you opening the Azure portal. Post these health checks to Slack so your ops team stays informed.

Query Azure SQL and Cosmos DB

Need to check database status, review recent metrics, or pull configuration details? Your agent interacts with Azure database services to retrieve the information you need. This is useful for DBAs and developers who want quick answers about their data tier without navigating multiple portal blades.

Review resource group spending

Your agent can pull cost analysis data from Azure Cost Management, broken down by resource group, subscription, or service type. Generate on-demand spending reports or set up regular cost summaries that land in Slack or your inbox. Flag subscriptions that are trending above budget before costs become a problem.

How it works

Connect Azure to Weldable using a service principal with the required permissions for your target resources. After setup on the integrations page, your AI agent translates natural language requests into Azure REST API calls. Weldable handles authentication and token management, so your agent can work across multiple Azure services from one conversation without credential juggling.

Tips

Scope permissions to specific resource groups. Assign your service principal access only to the resource groups your agent needs. This limits the blast radius of any operation and follows security best practices for automated access.

Include subscription context. If you manage multiple Azure subscriptions, mention which one you are referring to in your requests so the agent targets the correct environment. This prevents accidental cross-subscription queries.

Pair with alerting integrations. Combine Azure data with Slack or email integrations to get automated notifications when resource health degrades or costs exceed a threshold. Your agent can check Azure metrics on a schedule and alert the right team when action is needed.
