Look up employee information quickly

Your AI agent can retrieve employee details like department, manager, start date, job title, or contact information from BambooHR. HR teams and managers get instant answers to directory questions without searching through the platform manually. This is especially useful during onboarding when multiple people need quick access to new hire details.

Track time-off requests and balances

Ask your agent to check who is out this week, review pending PTO requests, or look up an employee's remaining vacation balance. How it works

Connect BambooHR to Weldable using your BambooHR API key and subdomain on the integrations page. Once connected, your AI agent queries employee data, time-off records, and directory information by interpreting your natural language requests and translating them into BambooHR API calls. Authentication is handled automatically for every request.

Tips

Reference employees by name or employee ID. BambooHR identifies employees by their internal ID, but your agent can also search by name and resolve the correct record. Using the full name avoids ambiguity when multiple people share a first name.

Check field availability. BambooHR supports many standard and custom fields. If a query returns empty results, confirm that the field is populated in your BambooHR account for the employee in question. Custom fields need to be configured before they can be queried.

Respect data sensitivity. Employee data is sensitive by nature. Configure your agent's access level to match what the API key allows, and be mindful of who can interact with the agent to query HR information. Restrict access to managers and HR team members.
