How it works

Connect your Instagram Business or Creator account through Facebook's OAuth flow. Instagram's API is part of the Facebook Graph API, so authentication goes through your linked Facebook page. Weldable requests permissions for content publishing, comment management, and insights access. Tokens refresh automatically in the background.

Tell your agent what you need in plain language. Say "post this image to Instagram with the caption about our summer collection" or "show me engagement stats for our last 10 posts" and Weldable maps your request to the right API call. Your agent handles image formatting requirements, hashtag limits, and the distinction between feed posts and carousels.

Tips

Instagram requires a Business or Creator account. Personal accounts do not have API access for publishing or insights. Switch your account type in Instagram settings before connecting. Your agent cannot publish to personal profiles.

Hashtag limits matter. Instagram allows up to 30 hashtags per post, but posts with 5 to 15 targeted hashtags tend to perform better than those that max out the limit. Your agent can select hashtags from a curated list based on the post topic.

Carousel posts get higher engagement than single images. When your agent has multiple related images, publishing them as a carousel keeps users swiping and increases time spent on your content. The API supports up to 10 images per carousel.

Story publishing has different rules than feed posts. Stories disappear after 24 hours and have different aspect ratio requirements. Your agent handles the formatting, but plan your content strategy around the difference in shelf life between stories and feed posts.

Pull insights at least 48 hours after posting. Like Facebook, Instagram's analytics data is not real-time. Early reads will show incomplete numbers. Your agent should wait before compiling performance reports to get accurate engagement figures.
