Notion MCP Integration

Connect Notion to your AI agents through Weldable.

Productivity

Weldable's Notion MCP integration gives your AI agents the ability to read, create, and update pages and databases in your Notion workspace. Notion has become the default knowledge base for modern teams, handling everything from documentation to project tracking to meeting notes. With Weldable, your agent interacts with Notion through natural language, turning workspace management into something you can describe rather than click through.

Notion shipped its own MCP server in 2025, with enterprise features like audit logging and multi-database queries following in 2026. Weldable connects Notion to the rest of your stack so your agent can pull data from Google Sheets, process it with Anthropic, and write the results to a Notion page, all without switching tools. The combination turns Notion from a static workspace into a living system that updates itself.

Use cases

Automated meeting notes distribution

After a meeting, your agent creates a new Notion page from the transcript, extracts action items, and assigns them to the relevant database entries. It then posts a summary to the team's Slack channel with a link to the full notes. No one has to manually transfer notes from one tool to another.

Knowledge base maintenance

Your agent scans your Notion knowledge base for pages that have not been updated in 90 days. It flags stale content in a dedicated database, notifies page owners through Slack, and tracks resolution status. This keeps documentation current without requiring someone to audit manually.

Sprint planning documentation

Your agent reads task data from your project management tool, summarizes completed work and outstanding items, and creates a formatted sprint review page in Notion. It links to relevant tickets, includes metrics like velocity and burndown, and publishes the page to the team's workspace automatically.

Onboarding checklists

When a new hire joins, your agent creates a personalized onboarding page in Notion from a template. It fills in the hire's name, role, manager, and start date, populates the checklist with role-specific tasks, and shares the page with the right people. The entire setup happens in seconds.

Research synthesis

Your agent collects information from multiple sources, including emails via Gmail, documents from Google Drive, and Slack conversations. It synthesizes the findings into a structured Notion page with sections for key themes, open questions, and next steps. This pattern is especially useful for competitive research or customer feedback analysis.

How it works

Connect your Notion workspace through Weldable's OAuth flow. You select which pages and databases your agent can access during authorization, giving you fine-grained control over permissions. Weldable manages token lifecycle in the background.

Tell your agent what you need in plain language. Weldable resolves your intent to the appropriate Notion API call: creating pages, querying databases, updating properties, or searching content. Your agent handles block-level formatting, database filters, and property types without you needing to know the API schema.

Tips

Structure databases with clear property names. Notion database properties are how your agent identifies and filters records. "Status," "Assignee," and "Due Date" are immediately understandable. Abbreviations or emoji-only property names make matching harder.

Use database templates for consistency. When your agent creates new entries, templates ensure every record starts with the same structure. This reduces the chance of missing fields and makes automated queries more reliable.

Link pages to databases for context. Notion's relational properties let your agent cross-reference data. A meeting notes page linked to a project database entry gives your agent context about what the meeting relates to, improving the quality of summaries and action items.

Keep page hierarchies shallow. Deeply nested pages are harder for your agent to locate and reference. Two or three levels of nesting work well. Beyond that, consider using database views instead.

Combine with Anthropic for content generation. Let your agent draft content with Claude and publish it directly to Notion. This works well for weekly reports, status updates, and documentation drafts where you want AI-generated first drafts stored in your team's workspace.
